To successfully complete the Program, students must fulfill 22 total credits comprised of 13 credits from mandatory classes and at least 9 credits from 'specialty courses.' Even though there are no set prerequisites to register for the Program, BCIT assumes that learners have successfully taken high school senior English, Mathematics, and Science or equivalents. Although the Program is designed for anyone aspiring to a career in wood products manufacturing, it is especially targeted at those employed in primary or secondary manufacturing who want to advance their technical knowledge of their respective sectors 'and acquire related skills' and/or for workers in primary manufacturing wanting to pursue a career in secondary manufacturing.
